Ceiling Adjustment Explanation Dialog Box

If you update the ceiling amount for a lodging expense on the Amounts tab, you must enter an explanation.

If an expense type is configured to calculate the ceiling amount per-day, and if you are authorized to modify the ceiling amount of an expense, the Ceiling field on the Amounts tab is editable. When you enter a new ceiling amount, the Adjustment Explanation dialog box displays.

Note: Ceiling calculations for an expense type are configured from the Ceiling calculation based on field on the Basic Information tab of the Expense > Settings > Expense Types screen.

Dialog Box Fields

The fields described below display in the Adjustment Explanation Dialog box after you change or enter an amount in the Ceiling field on the Amounts tab.

Field Description
Date

The dates are listed in order based on the Start Date and End Date provided on the Details tab of the Expense Report.

Ceiling Amount

This non-editable field displays the original ceiling amount.

Adjustment Amount

This field displays the difference between the original ceiling amount and the new ceiling amount, which was entered on the Amounts tab. To change the amount, type the new amount directly in Adjustment Amount for each day where you wish to make a change.

Explanation

Provide your reason for adjusting the ceiling amount. Type the explanation directly in the field.

New Ceiling

This non-editable field displays the new ceiling amount, which Deltek Expense calculates by summing the Ceiling Amount and the Adjustment Amount.
